During the Summer of 2018 Lizzy spent 10 weeks out of the water receiving a HUGE amount of TLC.
She is constructed from steel, comprising shell plating riveted to a rib structure. The underside of the vessel has welded double plating.
She was sanded down to her bare steel, repainted, anti fouled, and was fitted with a full set of new anodes.
A full survey was carried out while Lizzy was out the water in 2018 at which time her underside was clear from weed growth.
She was fully inspected using soundings, thickness meter and visual.
Ultrasonic thickness readings were taken at structured intervals along her hull exterior, from the bottom of the hull where the vessel grounds to above the water line. The results were compared with a survey report that was carried out in 2007. The results show very little to nil material wastage since the last out of water report was carried out.
Lizzy has been maintained to the highest standard since.
